Design Travel explores the interplay between design and travel. It might be a new hotel for business travellers, an airline collaborating with a world-renowned architect or a product designed specifically to enhance the travel experience. Our brief is to make you want to be there and inspire you to seek out incredible design examples when you travel, or in your own city.
Stephanie Williams, is an interior designer, writer and travel communicator. Stephanie was the first editor of Qantas epiQure and her work has appeared in magazines, newspapers, television and online. She also has a love of fashion design, borne while working for Comme des Garcons.

Qantas now welcomes customers into their new Qantas London Lounge at Heathrow Airport, as the airline counts down to its direct 787 Dreamliner flights between Australia and London. Qantas has spent the past 12 months building a dedicated lounge at Heathrow as part of a multi-million dollar investment for customers on its existing London services as well as the landmark Perth-London route starting on 24 March 2018.
Qantas has unveiled its first Boeing Dreamliner, that will open up new routes and new levels of comfort for travellers. As the latest addition to the Qantas fleet, the 787-9 Dreamliner features next generation seating in Economy, Premium Economy and Business Class, with more space and a lower passenger count than most of its competitors.

The Tilden Hotel, tucked away in San Francisco has been firmly added to our hotel lust list. Housed in an historic 1928 building and straddling the historic Union Square neighborhood and the vibrant, up-and-coming Tenderloin, acting like a little bridge between, the Tilden was entirely redesigned by owner Stephen Yang and designer Brian Smith.
Primus Hotel has partnered with Veuve Clicquot and transformed its exclusive rooftop pool into the city’s most anticipated rooftop bar, opening this week. The New York inspired rooftop was formerly only open to hotel guests, but is now set to be the go-to bar for champagne, oysters and cocktails. To add to the fun, every Friday at 4:30pm the hotel welcomes visitors to take part in a hotel tour, exploring the design features and history of the building. Tour and drinks sounds like a good plan.

When the American Trade Hotel came onto our radar, hearts skipped beats. We had to share with you all the photos. Once the headquarters of the American Trade Developing Company built in 1917 in the leafy UNESCO World Heritage neighborhood of Casco Viejo, the American Trade Hotel was developed by the Ace Hotels group and opened in 2013.
